Maurice W. Allen, Jr., 45, of Pittsburg, died at 2:35 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2010, in Pittsburg. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.
He was born November 20, 1964, in San Diego, California, to Maurice Wesley Allen, Sr. and Grace Marie (Schultz) Allen. As a young boy he moved to Kansas with his family where he grew up and attended schools in Columbus.
He worked several years as a sandblaster at Mid-America Pipe Fabricating in Scammon, Kansas.

Travis Allen Frontenac, KS
Austin Allen Weir, KS
One Daughter – Tazia Smith Pittsburg, KS
Two Grandsons – Kayden Allen and Conner Allen
Two Brothers – Marty Allen Columbus, KS
Mickey Allen Scammon, KS
Three Sisters – Lori Tyree West Mineral, KS
Teresa Puffinbarger Hepler, KS
Lisa Allen Joplin, MO
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sharon Johnson.
Graveside committal services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010, at St. Bridget's Cemetery in Scammon. Arrangements are under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
