Max D. Allen, 85, of Parsons, passed away at his home early Thursday, November 7, 2019.
Max was born, May 31, 1934 to Ralph and Lelia (Robbins) Allen at McCune, Kansas where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from the McCune High School in 1952. In 1957, Max entered the United States Army and served until his discharge in 1959.
Max was united in marriage to Alma Jean Garretson on January 10, 1959 at Miami, Oklahoma. Following their marriage, he worked for Ralston Purina at Muskogee, Oklahoma for about three years. He then began his career at the former Ankortite Company, later the Dayton-Superior Company in Parsons where he worked for over 45 years until his retirement.
Max loved helping people! He especially enjoyed doing handiwork for people and attending his grandkids 4-H events. He had attended the Center Bethel Church in the past.

One Son, Mark and his wife, Teresa Allen of Seneca, Missouri;
Son-in-law, Warren Earling of Scammon, Kansas;
Three Grandchildren, Piper Allen, Corbin Allen and his wife, Molly, Crystal Hentzen and her husband, Mike and granddaughter-in-law, Courtney Stangle;
Ten Great-grandchildren, Noah, Chandler and Sadie Miller, Huntyr, Reid, Caleb and Carter Hentzen and Laila, Kera and Madeline Haviland;
Two Brothers, Bob Allen and his wife Maxine of Girard, Kansas and
Gaylen Allen of McCune, Kansas and
One Sister, Phyllis Brinard and her husband, Bob, of Palm Bay, Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Earling, who died, July 6, 2017; his grandson, Jeremy Haviland, who died October 31, 2015 as well as two brothers, Ralph and George and one sister, Leanna.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m., until service time. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Hospital and these may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, PO Box 374, Parsons, Kansas 67357.
