Mellody A. Negrete, 49, of Parsons, died at her home at 9:15 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2009.
She was born July 4, 1959, in Quenemo, Kansas, to "Buck" and JoAnn E. (Wilks) Green. She moved to Parsons as a teenager where she attended Parsons Schools.
Through the years, she worked as an emergency medical technician until becoming disabled.
She attended the Glory Barn in Parsons. She enjoyed spending time with her dog, "Sissy", and making ceramics.
She and Charlie Negrete were married in 1975. They later divorced.

Seven Grandchildren – Larissa, Kaitlyn Atticus, Keegan, Isabella, Rylan and Michael, Jr.
One Brother - Scott Rose Louisburg, KS
One Sister – Elizabeth Green Parsons, KS
Her Dog – "Sissy"
She was preceded in death by her mother, JoAnn Rose, one brother, Roger Green; and one half-brother, Joe Green.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2009, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
