Meredith L. Barragar

March 20, 1924 — November 28, 2006

Meredith L. Barragar, 82, of rural Oswego, died at 9:50 a.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Infinia Health Care at Oswego. He had been in failing health.

He was born March 20, 1924 in Liberty, Kansas to Earl and Grace (Stoker) Barragar. He grew up and attended schools in that area and was a graduate of Labette County Community High School in 1942.

He and Dorothy May Cunningham were married on April 14, 1945 at the Lutheran parsonage in Parsons. She preceded him in death on May 13, 2000. For a time, he and his wife were 4-H leaders for Oswego 101. He owned and operated Barragar Ayrshire Farms of Oswego and sold insurance for State Farm and Wheat Growers. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oswego.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2006.
