Merv Giltner, 66, of Merriam, Kansas, formerly of Parsons, died Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
He was born March 16, 1942, in Parsons, to Arthur and Velma (Thomas) Giltner. He grew up and attended schools in Parsons and was a 1960 graduate of Parsons High School.
Through the years, he worked as an auto body repairman for various car dealerships in Parsons. In 1984, he moved to the Kansas City area where he worked for Bob Allen Ford, retiring from there in 2007.
He enjoyed his dogs, studying history, playing pool, and collecting guns and antiques. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He and Donna Davis were married. They later divorced. He and Terry Ritzman were married April 2, 1981.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2008, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
