Michael A. Duggins

Michael A. "Mike" Duggins, 50, of Chetopa, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his home.

Michael Anthony Duggins was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 21, 1972 to Gerald Hampton Duggins, Sr. and Jo Anne (Moore) Duggins.  He grew up and attended schools in Kansas City and graduated from the Ruskin Heights High School there in 1991.  He then attended college in Asheville, North Carolina.  In 2010, Mike moved to Chetopa, Kansas where he had lived since.

Mike enjoyed fishing and grilling out. He really enjoyed cooking and was always very creative.  Mike especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He attended the First Baptist Church in Chetopa.

On October 13, 2017, Mike was united in marriage to Delli S. Herndon at Miami, Oklahoma.  She survives of the home.

Survivors include:  His wife, Delli; five sons, Marc Higgins of Buffalo, New York; Jeremiah Merrill (Fred Massey) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; Joseph Merrill of Kansas City, Kansas; Joshua Merrill of Girard, Kansas; and Jesse Merrill (Mercedes) of La Cygne, Kansas; two daughters, Samantha Blanchett (Codee) of Mapleton, Kansas and Amity Sturgeon of Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; one brother, Gerald Duggins, II (Carrie) of Kansas City, Missouri and one sister, Cynthia Lyons of Mountain Home, Missouri.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Chetopa.  The Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Chetopa is in charge of arrangements.
