Michael N. Houston, 52, of Republic, Missouri, formerly of Edna, Kansas, died unexpectedly at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2010.
He was born August 6, 1957, in Parsons, Kansas, to E. Dale and Roena (Ryman) Houston. He attended Edna Elementary School, Labette County High School in Altamont for two years, and was a graduate of Wichita West High School.
Following high school graduation, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he and his brother, Johnny Houston, owned and operated a construction company. He later had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States while working as a construction superintendent.
He most recently had been attending the West Republic Baptist Church in Republic, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and gun collecting.
He and Jeanette Thornberry were married in March 1991. They later divorced.

Nena Malen Clever, MO
He was preceded in death by his father, E. Dale Houston; mother, Roena Brown; and one brother, Johnny Dale Houston.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
