Michael D. "Mike" Mattox, 42, of Parsons, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home.
He was born December 19, 1970 in Parsons, Kansas to Edward Gene and Jo Ann (Turner) Mattox. He grew up in Parsons where he attended Meadow View Grade School, was a 1989 graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont, and had attended Labette Community College in Parsons.
Through the years, he had worked in distribution for Toys "R" Us of Kansas City and also at Sugar Creek Meat Packing Company in Pittsburg.
He was baptized at the First Christian Church in Parsons. Mike loved his pet ferrets and enjoyed collecting knives and watching sports and movies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his niece, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Tonya Harrington, on January 25, 2007.
Private burial was held by the family at Springhill Cemetery, near Parsons, under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. No public service is planned at this time.
