Mildred J. Brown, 78, of Chetopa, died at 4:20 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
She was born November 24, 1929, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Eldo Jess and Ruby (Allison) Coons.
She lived in Pomona, California, 23 years before moving to Chino, California, where she lived ten years. She then lived in Port Aransas, Texas, before moving to Chetopa, in 1997, to be near family.
Through the years, she was manager of a grocery store and motel.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and mother, spending time with her family, and making ceramics.
She and John Brown were married February 27, 1945. He preceded her in death June 17, 2008.
