Mildred I. Chrisman, 80, of Parsons, passed away at 6:55 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 27, 1935 in Clearwater, Kansas to Merle and Mary (Gooden) Railing. As a young girl, she grew up in Clearwater and Wichita where she attended schools. Prior to marriage, Mildred owned and operated Country Kitchen in Chanute.
She and William "Bill" Chrisman were married in November of 1974. While living in Chanute, the couple owned and operated a daycare for 25 years. For many years, the couple also managed the Elks Club in Chanute before moving to Oklahoma in 1986. Following the death of her husband, she returned to Chanute to care for her mother before moving to Parsons two years ago to be near her family.
In earlier years, she was baptized in the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, and cooking. Mildred had served as Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary president in Chanute.

Four Great-Great-Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Chrisman, on September 11, 1994.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Private graveside committal services will be held at a later date.
