Mildred G. Kuffler

Mildred G. Kuffler, 85, of Parsons, died at 4:55 a.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Labette Health. She was born February 20, 1928 in St. Paul, Kansas to William E. "Bill" Holding and Dora Ethel (Hentzen) Holding. As a young girl, she grew up in St. Paul where she lived on the "Big Island" and attended school. She then moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked for four years before returning to St. Paul. On March 9, 1946, she and Kenneth L. Kuffler were married in Erie, Kansas. Following marriage, they lived in Council Bluff, Iowa for 30 years before retiring and returning to Parsons. She was a Methodist. Mildred enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include: Two Daughters – Dora Kay Edie Oswego, KS Marcia Dyer Parsons, KS Ten Grandchildren Seventeen Great-Grandchildren Two Sisters – Mary Marvin Parsons, KS Billie Keeling Parsons, KS She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kuffler, on July 18, 2010; one son, David Leroy Kuffler; two grandsons, three brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Cremation will follow and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
