Mintie E. Hope, 87, of Altamont, passed away at 12:02 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
She was born June 6, 1931 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Troy E. and Lucy (Hollowell) Clark. She grew up in Pawhuska where she attended school and graduated from Pawhuska High School.
On September 6, 1952, she and Jerry Hope were married in Pawhuska. Following marriage, they lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma while her husband finished college. They then lived in Frankfort, Kansas, Yates Center, Kansas, and in December of 1959 moved to Altamont where they made their home and raised their family.
Mintie was a member of the Bartlett Christian Church and had recently attended the Western Way Cowboy Church near Altamont. She spent her years as a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom. Not only did Mintie and Jerry raise their three children, they also parented several foster children through the years. She was also a vital part of managing the family farm. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and assisting with Vacation Bible School for many years. Mintie loved spending time with her family and caring for their needs.

Ten Grandchildren – Bryan Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Nicole Hope, Christopher Hope, Samantha Hope, Stephanie Hope, Shianne Davis, Jim Davis and his wife, Darcy, Scott Davis and companion, Shelby Monnington, and Kenny Davis

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Tom Clark; one grandson, Clayton Davis; and one great-granddaughter.
Victory services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Western Way Cowboy Church, rural Altamont. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
