Morgan T. Davis

Morgan T. Davis, 46, of rural Chetopa, died at 2:10 a.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Oswego Community Hospital. He was born March 26, 1966, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to M. Gene and Alice (Jones) Davis. He grew up in Labette County on the family farm southwest of Oswego and was a 1984 graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont. Through the years he worked with his father on the farm and, in 2005, when his parents moved to town, he took over the family farm operations. He had also worked at Bartlett Co-op several years, Midwest Fertilizer and Osborne Trash Service. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Kansas Farm Bureau and Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 69 in Altamont since 1985. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include: Mother – Alice Davis Oswego, KS Two Brothers – Mark Davis and his wife, Lori Oswego, KS Matthew Davis and his wife, Becky Altamont, KS One Sister – Rebecca Gray and her husband William Oswego, KS Nephews & Nieces – Chris Davis, Micha George, Mickey Plumlee Katie, Molli and Taylor Gray Companion – Bobbie Harms Bartlett, KS Pets – Jack and J.D. He was preceded in death by his father, M. Gene Davis; and one nephew, Darran Plumlee. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Oswego Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Memorials are suggested to the Morgan Davis Memorial Fund.
