Nadine M. (Baker) Harbison, 91, of Chetopa, passed away at 9:40 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Chetopa Manor Nursing Home.
She was born January 20, 1925 in Chetopa, Kansas to John Wesley and Lydia Jane (Hill) Baker. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Chetopa.
In 1941, she and Lloyd Nading were married. To that union, eight children were born. The couple later divorced. Throughout her life, Nadine worked continuously at various jobs at the Buckboard restaurant, the garment factory, the nursing home, Chetopa schools, and was a janitor at Chetopa State Bank. In 1984, she and Melvin J. "Curly" Harbison were married. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2004.
She was a member of the Community Bible Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She was proud of her children and their accomplishments in life and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Nadine enjoyed doing word search puzzles and cooking.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Littlejohn; two great-grandchildren, two sisters, and four brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. Friends may call at their convenience from 2-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
