Nancy C. Forbes

Nancy C. (Heck) Forbes, 70, of Parsons, passed away at 7:28 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was born March 12, 1948 in St. Paul, Kansas to Cyril and Adeline (Bradshaw) Heck. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Parsons where she attended school and graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1966.

While raising her children, Nancy was a stay-at-home mom. She later worked as a receptionist and coder in Dr. Tang's office at Labette County Medical Center.  Following Dr. Tang's retirement, she continued to work at the hospital.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, its Altar Society, and faithfully prayed for others during her time of adoration.  Nancy's family and friends were always "welcome" in her home. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, and hosting family get-togethers.

She and Mark J. Forbes were married March 19, 1983 in Parsons.

Two Sons – Charlie Forbes (Lindi) of Altamont, KS

Ben Forbes of Parsons, KS

Two Daughters – Carrie Joslin of Parsons, KS

Aimee Cox (Jordan) of Jenks, OK

Six Grandchildren

Four Great-Grandchildren

One Sister – Marlene Dick (Dan) of Lawrence, KS

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Danny Heck and George Burkhart; two sisters, Norma Wilson and Peggy Titus; and one grandson, Spencer Joslin.

The rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons followed by the memorial funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at the church. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in St. Paul.
