Nathan B. "Nate" Banning, 30, of Oswego, died at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at his home. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected.

He was born August 23, 1978, in Independence, Kansas, to Roger and Donna (Merrick) Banning. He grew up and attended schools in Neodesha and Fredonia. He had worked at Vestal Refrigeration in Independence before moving to Oswego three years ago. He was currently working as a caregiver for SKIL.

He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and writing songs, and was an artist. He attended the Mound Valley Lighthouse Tabernacle and the Glory Barn Church in Parsons.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Rhonda Banning.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2008, at the Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont from noon to 1:30 p.m., Friday, prior to the graveside service.
