Nelsie J. Ramsey

Nelsie J. Ramsey, 68, of Parsons, passed away at 4:35 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin.

She was born May 9, 1948 in Marshall, Arkansas to Albert and Rosie (Ragland) Davis. She grew up and attended school in Arkansas.

She and George W. Ramsey were married in 1965 in Miami, Oklahoma. Following marriage, the couple moved to Parsons where she worked at Fred Ronald Manufacturing Company, was an Avon representative, worked as a delivery person for The Tulsa World, and worked as a cook at the Parsons Middle School for several years until retiring.

She enjoyed painting, reading, genealogy, baking and cooking.

Survivors include two sons, James S. Ramsey and Marcus R. Ramsey, both of Parsons, KS; one daughter, Julie Ramsey-Shaw and her husband, Marty, of Parsons, KS; one granddaughter, Alyssa Ramsey; two brothers, James Davis, of Parsons, KS, and Ray Davis, of Harriet, AR; and two sisters, Wilma Kyle and Jo Ann Middleton, both of Harriet, AR.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Ramsey, on December 8, 2010; one son, George William Ramsey, Jr., on December 20, 2015; and two brothers, Claude Davis and Mac Davis.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Mound Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience on Wednesday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons after 1:00 p.m.
