Nick Dwayne Phillips, known to many as "The Punisher," fought his last fight and stepped out of the ring of life to be welcomed to Heaven for his final retirement.
Nick passed away from pancreatic cancer at 12:15 a.m., December 1, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He would have turned 58 on December 15th.
He was born to Sharyl Rae (Swofford) and James Phillips in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He later moved with his family to Parsons, where he was raised with his two younger brothers, Chad and Scott. When Nick was 17, he was introduced to his biological father, Thomas Baxter, and united with his two younger sisters, Tomi Jean and Tina.
After graduating from Parsons High School in 1982, Nick immediately enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and was a specialist 4 th Class in the 101 st Airborne Air Assault Unit. During the Gulf War, he served in two active-duty overseas deployments. In 1985, he was vetted by the United States Army Special Forces.
Nick had a love for martial arts. He was a two-time Title Belt World Champion. After retiring from his fighting career, he continued to work out at the gym every day. He was a coach and mentor to many and a friend to even more.
He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him. The world was a better place with him in it.

Granddaughters -Maicee, McKaya, Addison and Bella
Two sisters – Tina Baxter and Tomi Jean Trentz
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his two brothers.
The Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial with military honors will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 – 5:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
