Noma R. Horton, 82, of Parsons, died at 12:40 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Elm Haven West Nursing Home in Parsons.

She was born April 7, 1930, in Cooper, Texas, to Houston and Irene (Moore) Beeler. While her father worked as a welder, her family lived in various cities throughout the United States. She graduated from high school while living in Corpus Christi, Texas.

In younger years, she worked as a model and later as a beautician. She moved from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, to Parsons three years ago to be near family.

She had attended the Parsons Nazarene Church. Noma enjoyed arts and crafts and woodcarving.

Survivors include:
Two Sons – Bob Horton Wyoming
Miles Wharton Parsons, KS
One Daughter – Patricia Poole California
Eight Grandchildren
Nine Great-Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Following cremation, the family will hold private committal services at a future date. The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
