Oliver M. Redmond, Jr.

Oliver M. Redmond, Jr., 58, of Parsons, passed away the morning of Monday, June 13, 2022, at his home.  His death was unexpected.

Oliver Massalon Redmond was born on August 22, 1963, to Oliver Massalon and Ruby Mae (Van Hoose) Redmond in Parsons.  He grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School in 1981.  Following high school, Oliver earned an Associate's Degree from Labette Community College.

For many years, Oliver worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center.

Oliver enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.  For over 20 years, he and his wife served as foster parents.  A devoted father, he loved taking long walks with his sons and loved the way his son would take care of him in his barber chair.  A good husband, father and friend, Oliver will be greatly missed.

On March 24, 2000, Oliver and Monique F. Quinzy were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma.  She survives of the home.

Three grandchildren – Raphael Redmond, Wallace Redmond and Ximena Redmond

One sister – Olivia Lyons of Parsons, Kansas

Mother-in-law - Shirley Irving of Parsons, Kansas

A host of nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and one sister, Olivette Redmond.

The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m., until the service time.
