Othelia M. Wester, 87, of rural Parsons, died at 5:30 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2010, at Labette Health.

She was born January 22, 1922, to Walter Scott and Dorsie Ruby (Fahler) Harden in rural Edna, Kansas.

On December 2, 1941, she and T. E. Wester were married in the Panama Canal Zone. He preceded her in death March 4, 2000.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edna and recently had attended the Galesburg United Methodist Church. In earlier years, she participated in the South Mound Friendship Club, Labette Health Auxiliary, Sunflower Sportsmen's Club, Audubon Society, and had also served as a 4-H leader. She loved crocheting.

Survivors include:
Two Sons – James Wester of the home, rural Parsons
Roger Wester & wife, Ruby Jay, OK
Seven Grandchildren
Six Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Melvin Harden and wife, Dean Welch, OK
One Sister – Anita Shufelt and husband, Verl rural Edna, KS

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wilbur and Larry Harden.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2010, at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial will be in Edna Elm Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:00 p.m., Thursday.
