Pamela Jean Stammer, 62, passed from this world into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at her home in Joplin, Missouri.
Pamela was born September 17, 1953 in Oswego, Kansas to Wayne and Bertha (Hall) Jones. She grew up on farms around Oswego and Jerico Springs, Missouri. Pamela gave her life to Christ and was baptized at the Jerico Springs Christian Church at the age of 13. She graduated from Stockton, Missouri High School in 1972.
Pamela met the love of her life, Karl Stammer, in the spring of 1973 at the Oswego Christian Church. They dated for two years before marrying on April 11, 1975. They attended Ozark Christian College while living in Carl Junction. They later moved to Oswego where they raised their three children. The couple moved to Joplin in 2000.
Pamela was a member of College Heights Christian Church in Joplin. She formerly worked as a CNA at St. John's and Freeman hospitals until she retired. She enjoyed reading, weekly bible studies with her friends, and spending time with her family.
Pamela is survived by her husband, of the home; her children: Aaron and Karissa Stammer of Frisco, Texas, Andrew and Danielle Stammer of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Elizabeth and Josh Cochran of Galesburg, Kansas; brothers Leroy Jones of Brownfield, Texas and Larry Jones of Shiloh, Illinois; sisters Barbara Markham of Chanute, Kansas, Alice Davis of Oswego, Kansas, and Vickie Kallus of Montana, Kansas, and her grandchildren: Kloe, Gryffin, Kai, Kolter, Brinley, Emily, Ethan, Truitt, Elise, and Emmett, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leon and Marvin Jones, parents-in-law Don and Verona Stammer, and grandson Xander Cochran.
Visitation will be held at College Heights Christian Church Atrium on Sunday, March 13 from 6 to 7:30 pm. The funeral service will be at the Oswego Christian Church at 11 am on Monday, March 14 and officiated by Rick Bushnell of College Heights Christian Church. Interment will be at Oswego Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adoption Fund at College Heights Christian Church or left with the funeral home.
