Patricia H. "Pat" Kennedy

Patricia H. "Pat" Kennedy, 78, of St. Paul, died at 7:22 a.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at her home.

She was born July 13, 1932, in Tulare, California, to Nicholas and Emma (Ihde) TenBroek. As a young girl, she grew up and attended schools in the Layton and Hanford, California areas and was a graduate of Hanford High School.

Following high school, she worked at the former Pacific Bell as a telephone operator for nine years before working at Hughes Aircraft and later Northrop Aircraft.

She and Francis Kennedy were married November 30, 1956, in Redondo Beach, California. In 1973, the couple moved to St. Paul, Kansas, where she was employed by the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons for eight years.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends.

Her husband of 54 years – Francis Kennedy of the home, St. Paul, KS
One Son – Mark Kennedy Grove, OK
One Daughter – Vickie Elder and husband, Terry Louisville, NE
Four Grandchildren – Chastity Kennedy, Lindsey Elder, Jesse Elder and John Kennedy
Four Great-Grandchildren – Kayla Kennedy, Devin Allison, Brady Abbott and Tucker Abbott
Two Sisters – Jackie Buchholz Mt. Vernon, WA
Janice Puscas Ridgecrest, CA

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. The rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the church where the family will receive friends immediately following.

Memorials are suggested to the Prairie Mission Retirement Village Chapel Fund. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
