Patricia E. "Pat" Vining, 74, of Thayer died at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at her home in Thayer.
She was born on March 8, 1942 in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California. She and Donald R. Vining were married on November 26, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to Kansas in 1978.
Pat was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, oil painting, and embroidering. She was a member of the Thayer Christian Church. In earlier years, she and her husband belonged to the Moose Lodge in California.

William M. Vining and wife, Amy Thayer, KS
Two daughters – Bettina J. Wheeler and husband, Stan Chanute, KS
Brenda J. Cox Thayer, KS
Twenty grandchildren and several great-grandchildren
Two brothers – Daniel Roney Portland, OR
Michael Roney Big Bear, CA
She was preceded in death by her husband Don Vining on July 2, 2009, a daughter, Kelli Vining on November 13, 2010, three brothers; Cyril Roney, Buck Roney, and Ronnie Roney.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Thayer Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Harrison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
