Patricia Ann "Patsy" Ross, 89, of Chetopa, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020, at her home.
Patricia Ann Hill was born on July 14, 1930, to Robert and Marie (Lancanster) Hill in Parsons, Kansas. As a young girl, she grew up and attended schools in Parsons.
In her earlier years, she had worked at the garment factory in Chetopa. Following training as a Nurse's aide in Oswego, she worked for twenty years at the Oswego nursing home and ten years at the Oswego hospital. She raised dogs for twenty years and was lifelong farmer and rancher.
Patsy was a member of the Chetopa First Baptist Church. She enjoyed antiquing with her husband.
On November 30, 1946, she and Kirk Eugene "Gene" Ross were married in Chetopa. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1998.
Survivors include:
Two sons – Larry Ross and his wife, Phyllis, of Chetopa, Kansas
Willard Ross and his wife, Terri, of Bartlett, Kansas
Three daughters – Melinda Littrell and her husband, Charles, of Chetopa, Kansas
Lesa Deardorff and her husband, Bob, of Joplin, Missouri
Lizzie Ross of Chetopa, Kansas
Nine Grandchildren
Fourteen Great-grandchildren
One brother – Vernon Hill of Melrose, Kansas
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Junior Hill; and one sister, Lois Addis.
There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2020, at Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett, Kansas. Friends may call from 3 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
