Patricia A. "Patty" (Ashby) Thompson, 72, of rural Oswego, died at 10:05 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019 at her home.

She was born December 1, 1946 at Oswego to Walter and Ruby (Kelley) Donald.  She grew up in rural Altamont and graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1964.  She then attended Coffeyville Junior College where she earned an Associate of Arts degree.

On October 27, 1972, she and David Ashby were married in Clinton, Maryland.  They lived there while her husband was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base.  They lived in several cities while her husband served in the United States Air Force.  In 1999, following his retirement they moved to rural Oswego.  He preceded her in death on February 9, 2008.

Through the years, Patty worked for Global Credit Union as an Administrative Assistant.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, and traveling.

She was a member of the VFW auxiliary.  She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Altamont and found great enjoyment in bible study.

On December 30, 2014, she and Robert L. "Bob" Thompson were married at the family farm.  He survives of the home.

Leanna Martin             Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Thirteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Altamont.  Burial will be in Elston Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, or the Uganda Mission Fund.  These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
