Patrick T. "Pat" Diskin

Patrick T. "Pat" Diskin, 94, of St. Paul, passed away at 9:43 p.m., Monday, November 26, 2018 at Girard Medical Center.

He was born March 7, 1924 in Parsons, Kansas to Michael and Amelia "Emma" (Volmer) Diskin. As a young boy, he grew up in St. Paul where he graduated from St. Francis High School in 1942.

For two years, Pat proudly served in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to St. Paul where he was a lifelong farmer and stockman.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul and its Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 116 in St. Paul. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, fishing, and playing cards.

He and Berniece "Claire" O'Brien were married January 20, 1947 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. She preceded him in death on September 23, 1982. On July 14, 1984, he and Mary Alice (Stephan) Dyson were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Walnut. She survives of the home.

Scott, KS, Paul Dyson (Anita) of St. Petersburg, FL, Jim Dyson (Cindy) of Erie, KS, Susan Little (Bill) of Cherokee, KS, Larry Dyson (Julie) of St. Louis, MO, and Mark Dyson (Lisa) of Ulysses, FL

Seven Grandchildren – Eric Diskin (Amanda), Elycia Degenhardt (Jeff), Sean Rowley, Mary Kate Rowley, Amy Stoker (Cody), Janelle Stover (Tommy), and Darren Bailey

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann Diskin; three brothers, Ralph, Michael, and Don Diskin; and one sister, Margaret Bohrer.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2018 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul.  Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery with military honors being given by George L. Hendricks American Legion Post No. 102, Erie, Kansas.The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the church. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the Rosary.
