Patsy R. Ford, 77, of Parsons, passed away early Thursday afternoon, October 1, 2015 at her home.
She was born December 12, 1937 at the Osage Indian Reservation in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Lawrence A. and Edith V. (Wheeler) Brown. She grew up in Cherryvale, Neodesha, and Altoona, Kansas.
On August 1, 1956 she and Ray Leon Ford were married in Fredonia, Kansas. Following marriage, they lived in Chanute and Fredonia. In 1993, Patsy earned an Associate degree from Labette Community College in Parsons.
She was a member of the Church of God in Neodesha. She was also a member of the Green Country Bluegrass Association and the Kansas Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers. She especially enjoyed music. In earlier years, she and her husband were in a Bluegrass band that played in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas.

One Brother – Rex Brown Altoona, KS
One Sister – Dorothy Anderes Coffeyville, KS
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ford, on June 13, 2006; five brothers, Tom, Bob, Lee, Jimmy and Carl; and three sisters, Helen, Betty, and Verna.
Following cremation, graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2015 at Thayer Cemetery near Thayer, Kansas under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
