Patty L. Thomas, 72, of Parsons, died at 4:20 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center at Via Christi – St. Francis in Wichita.
She was born February 18, 1938, in Melford, Missouri, to Lloyd J. and Bertha Mae (Faubion) Zinn. As a young girl, she grew up in Melford before moving to Lamar, Missouri, and later Parsons. She was a graduate of Labette County Community High School in Altamont.
On June 3, 1956, she married Bill E. Moore. Following their marriage, they moved to Louisiana where they lived for a time. They divorced in 1977 and upon her return to Parsons, she was employed at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center and most recently as a cashier at Country Mart. She and Larry Bateman were married December 9, 1978. They divorced in 1983.
On May 29, 1996, she married Lloyd K. Thomas in Parsons. He preceded her in death September 4, 1996.
She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and through the years, caring for numerous foster children. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.

Son – Sean Moore and wife, Nicole New Iberia, LA
Stepdaughter – Regina Geer Parsons, KS
Foster Son – Ryan Kaplean Prairie Village, KS
Ten Grandchildren
Two Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Loyd L. Zinn Wichita, KS
One Sister – Marylan K. Melton Parsons, KS
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
