Patty J. Walker, 61, of Chetopa, died at 1:53 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
She was born July 18, 1952 in Oswego, Kansas to James and Claudine (Riddle) Reed. She attended Chetopa Grade School, three years at Labette County High School in Altamont, graduated from high school in Nevada, Missouri, and later graduated from the Harvesters Christian Fellowship School of Ministry as an ordained minister.
Through the years she worked as a nurse's aide at Coffeyville Doctor's Clinic, as director at Cedarvale Human Services, in Admissions at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, and most recently as a bus driver for seven years at Labette County High School.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She and Terry Walker were married July 19, 1979 in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, survivors include one son, Jay Walker and his wife, Fara, of Baxter Springs, KS; two daughters, Paula Lee, of New Orleans, LA, and Devon Nading and husband, Wade, of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Tori Carter, Jaleigh Walker, Caden Walker and Corven Walker; and two brothers, Kenny Reed and John Reed, both of Chetopa, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
