Paul E. Myers

Paul E. Myers, 73, of rural Mound Valley, went to be with his Lord at 1:07 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the Emergency Room at Labette Health. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected. He was born August 27, 1938 in rural Cherryvale, Kansas to Lovell H. and Dorles (Straub) Myers. As a young boy, he grew up on the family farm and was a 1956 graduate of Labette County Community High School in Altamont. Through the years, he worked as a machinist at Boeing in Wichita, Parsons Precision Products, Funk Manufacturing in Coffeyville, and Jenson International in Independence. He also farmed and did custom harvesting. He was a member of the Mound Valley First Baptist Church where he had served as deacon. He had also served on the Mound Valley Co-op Board. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, going to auctions and spending time with his grandchildren. He and Pat May were married August 14, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Parsons. She survives of the home. In addition to his wife, survivors include: Three Sons – David Myers and wife, Vickie Mound Valley, KS Danny Myers and wife, Kim Mound Valley, KS Don Myers Parsons, KS One Daughter – Paula Bradfield and husband, Rusty Mound Valley, KS Fifteen Grandchildren – Chris Myers, Kelly Myers, Brandy Habiger, Amy Myers, Mindy Myers, Ryan Myers, Sarah Hammans, Ashlee Kite, Robert Steeby, Kara Myers, Ashley Myers, Darcey Myers, Riley Bradfield, Taylor Bradfield and Roper Bradfield. Fifteen Great-Grandchildren – Stetson Myers, Knydal Myers, Madyson Myers, Karlee Myers, Brayden Myers, Kyle Habiger, Kylie Habiger, Kolby Myers, Shaelyn Nibarger, Treyan Nibarger, Cassidy Hammans, Caleb Hammans, Madelyn Myers, Hunter Myers, and Lane Steeby. Four Brothers – Gail Myers and wife, Maxine Ozark, MO Larry Myers and wife, Judy Altamont, KS Allen Myers and wife, Diann Cherryvale, KS John Myers and wife, Patti Grove, OK Two Sisters – Betty Gittins and husband, Elmer Altamont, KS Deloris Edwards Tulsa, OK Numerous Nieces and Nephews He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Myers and Gerald Ray Myers; and one grandson, Joshua Myers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Mound Valley. Burial will be in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Memorials are suggested to the Mound Valley First Baptist Church Building Fund.
