Paul Raymond Campmier, 80, of Chetopa, formerly of Parsons, died at 8:50 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2007, at Chetopa Manor, where he had resided since January 1997.
He was born March 17, 1927, in Council Grove, Kansas, to Ralph Alfa and Kitty Margaret (Belt) Campmier. He grew up and attended school in Council Grove where he received his 8th grade diploma from Morris School in 1942.
He later served in the U.S. Army from August 2, 1945 through November 14, 1946. Through the years he did farm work and was employed by the City of Parsons.
He and Wanda (Mattox) Yarrington were married March 23, 1956. They later divorced.
Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph W. Campmier; and three sisters, Gladys Jones, Zelma Amos and Genevieve Kidd.
Private graveside services will be held in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704 Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2007, at the Forbes Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
