Payden Kyle Sutherland, 27, formerly of Parsons, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, in Delray Beach, Florida.
He was born December 3, 1986, in Bedford, Texas to Brian L. and Leslie M. (Bumgarner) Sutherland. He lived in the Arlington, Texas area until the age of 11. He then moved to Florida with his mother until moving to Parsons. He graduated from Parsons High School in 2005. Following graduation, he joined the United States Navy. He moved to the Fort Lauderdale area in 2007 and was currently working as a software engineer.
At the age of 12, he ranked 21st in the world in yo-yo competition. He enjoyed computers, remote control airplanes and cars, and sports, especially baseball. While living in Parsons, he attended the Foursquare Church.
Survivors include his father, Brian Sutherland, St. Paul, KS; mother Leslie Williams, Dover, Florida; two sisters, Brynn Martinez, Brandon, FL, and Shelby Denney, Dover, FL; paternal grandfather, Leslie Sutherland, Parsons, KS; paternal grandmother, Deanna Sutherland, Parsons, KS, and maternal grandmother, Gloria Bumgarner, Conroe, TX.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, "Jo" and Albert "Pete" Cunningham and Virginia and "Bud" Sutherland; and maternal grandfather, Lyle Bumgarner.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the Foursquare Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
