Pearl (Palmer) Wilson, 97, of Coffeyville, formerly of Chetopa, died at 11:51 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010, at her home in Coffeyville.
She was born September 30, 1913, in Nowata County, Oklahoma, to T. R. and Carrie (Burnsides) Palmer. As a young girl, she attended Thompson and Pettit Schools.
For a time, she lived with her mother prior to marriage to Alvin Kerns. They later divorced. On August 9, 1958, she married James M. "Jim" Wilson. The couple made their home south of the Bartlett area until moving to rural Chetopa. He preceded her in death May 26, 2010.
For over 40 years, she was owner and operator of Pearl's Beauty Shop in Edna and Parsons and was also a Merle Norman consultant during that time.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Coffeyville.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, and one daughter, Carrie Nadine Kerns.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 4, 2010, at the First Church of God in Coffeyville. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
