Peggy Frances Leech, 77, of Wichita, and formerly of Parsons, passed away at 10:51 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Catholic Care Center in Wichita. She was born September 7, 1937 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Delmar L. and Bessie M. (Baber) Steinhardt. Peggy grew up in Chase and Stafford, Kansas. She was a 1955 graduate of Stafford High School and attended Hutchinson Jr. College. For 37 years Peggy worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T as an operator, repair clerk, and equipment operator with a general radiotelephone operator license until her retirement. She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling, and being with family. On May 2, 1959, she was married to Bernard F. Sevart at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1986. On April 24, 1993, she was married to Bernard L. Leech at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2013. Survivors include: Two Sons – Bernard Bradley (Jennifer) Sevart, King George, VA Brian Lee (Radell) Sevart Wichita, KS One Daughter – Renee K (David) Lewin England Three Stepsons – David Leech Parsons, KS Pat (Janet) Leech Parsons, KS Dennis Leech and his companion Elsie Woodard Parsons, KS One Stepdaughter – Mary (Brad) Brooks Parsons, KS Ten Grandchildren Two Great-Grandchildren Five Step-Grandchildren Six Step-Great-Grandchildren One Brother – Leonard Lee Steinhardt Stafford, KS Two Sisters – Martha Jean (Monte) Kimble Stafford, KS Dee Ann (Jim) Rankin Wichita, KS She was preceded in death by her parents and one step-grandson, Christopher Leech. The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Monday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends immediately following the rosary at 7:30 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Hospice or Sisters of St. Joseph.
