Perry D. Whittenburg, 65, of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at 4:50 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2018 in Parsons at the home of his daughter.

He was born December 27, 1952 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Percy Jefferson and Mary Luvena (Brown) Whittenburg. He grew up in the rural Wann, Oklahoma area and later graduated from Wann High School.

Throughout his adult life, he worked in various places around the country as a union pipefitter. He retired twelve years ago at the age of 53.

He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union No. 441. Perry enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, gardening, cooking, and picking blackberries. He took great pride in being a member of the Cherokee Nation.

Two Sons – Patrick Whittenburg of Columbia, TX

Kyle Whittenburg of Ketchum, OK

Three Daughters – Rachel Caldwell and her companion, Danny Dunsing, of Mound Valley, KS

Melynda King and her companion, Zachary Allen, of Parsons, KS

Nicole King and her companion, Christopher DeBolt, of Parsons, KS

Three Grandchildren – Autumn Dunsing, Summer Dunsing, and Saylor Whittenburg

One Brother – Jerry Whittenburg, of Coffeyville, KS

Three Sisters – Rosa Watts of Nowata, OK

Barbara Stewart and her husband, Dick, of Wann, OK

Rita Moore and her husband, Bill, of Wann, OK

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Private committal services will be held by the family.
