Phyllis A. Pracht, 80, of Parsons, passed away the afternoon of Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
Phyllis Ann Westhoff was born on January 18, 1944, to Bernard and Louise F. (Baldwin) Westhoff in Parsons, Kansas. She grew up in Parsons, attending St. Patrick Catholic School. After graduating from St. Patrick Catholic High School in 1962, Phyllis earned an Associate's degree from Labette County Junior College and later, a Bachelor's of Science in Human Resource Management from Friends University.
Following college, she worked at State Bank for a number of years. From 1992 to 2015, Phyllis owned and operated Westhoff Liquor in Parsons.
Her Catholic faith was the central part of Phyllis' life. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was involved in the RCIA program and Cursillo. A devoted mother and grandmother, Phyllis loved spending time with her family and especially watching her children and grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include:
Two sons – Darren Pracht and wife, Carrie, of Wichita, Kansas
Jeffray Pracht and wife, Angela, of Bentonville, Arkansas
Two daughters – Tammy May and husband, Robert, of Wichita, Kansas
Tracy Holzem and husband, Doug, of Frontenac, Kansas
Twelve grandchildren: Carlie Pracht; Carsen Pracht; Drew Pracht; Daylie Pracht; Christian May and wife, Melissa; Logan Morgan; Trey Morgan; Maddie Schmitz and husband, Carl; Jacob Pracht and wife, Karra; Jordan Pracht; Noah Pracht and wife, Lucy; and Jenna Pracht
Four great-grandchildren; Theodore May, Issac May, Larkin Pracht and Jackson Pracht
Two sisters – Maryetta Gilmore and her husband, Bill, of Wichita, Kansas
Jolene Smith of Parsons, Kansas
Multiple nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Westhoff; and one sister, Vivian Merry.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. The family will receive friends 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the church, prior to the service.
