Randall L. "Randy" Dickens, 48, of Neodesha, Kansas, formerly of Parsons, died Thursday, October 29, 2009, at his home. He had been in failing health.

He was born May 18, 1961, in Parsons, Kansas, to Richard L. "Tiny" and Margaret Laverne (Osburn) Dickens.

He grew up in Parsons where he attended schools. For a time, he lived in Texas before returning to Parsons in 1979. Through the years, he worked as a truck driver for Individual Mausoleum Company in Parsons for 10 years, Dana Engine Management in Independence, and Cherokee Quest in Chanute.

He and Mary Craft were married. They later divorced.

He enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and knives, and spending time on his computer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Dickens, November 6, 1966; his father, "Tiny" Dickens, January 15, 2002; and brother-in-law, John Breeze.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
