Randy Lee "Hack", "Ott" Hackleman, 72, of Parsons, passed away at 12:10 PM Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

Randy was born October 16, 1945 in Nevada, Missouri to Harold Lee Hackleman and Lois Juanita (Alexander) Hackleman.

Randy grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri and graduated high school there. Randy met Nancy at the Blue Springs bowling alley at age 17. He was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam during the war.

In 1971, Randy and Nancy moved to Parsons, where he began work at the newly-constructed TecTank manufacturing facility. Randy co-invested in Atkinson Industries, located in Pittsburg, KS, and was president of the company. Randy retired to become partial owner of Michael's Sports in Pittsburg with Ron Strader, and later became sole owner. Randy continued to operate the business after its relocation to Cherokee, KS until his death.

Randy's loves and hobbies included most sports, but mostly baseball and football. An avid Chiefs and Royals fan, Randy also coached Little League baseball, hunted, bowled with all his bowling buddies, attended sports memorabilia conventions, played cards with friends, slots, and hunted for wild mushrooms in the wilderness. Randy had bowled a 300 score, and an 801 series with the same bowling ball.

Randy has passed down his passion of sports and living to his children, grandchildren, and future generations.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Ingolia) Hackleman, of the home; one son, Alan and his wife, Stephanie of Lafayette, LA; one daughter, Gina Palmer and her husband, Robbie of Parsons, KS; five grandchildren, Ariel, Allison, Lucas, Brett, and Kylea; and one great-grandson, Braxton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lois Hackleman.
