Raymond Dean Conard, 89, of rural Chetopa, passed away early Friday, December 14, 2018 at his home.
Raymond was born February 4, 1929 in rural Cherokee County, Kansas to George Steven and Flora Catherine (Bartee) Conard. As a young boy he grew up in Cherokee County where he attended Jarrett School and later graduated from Cherokee County Rural High School.
Raymond and Bonnie Lou Hatfield were married June 8, 1948 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Following marriage, the couple lived in rural Cherokee County where they raised pecans, farmed, raised cattle, and owned Cherry Creek Orchards.
Raymond enjoyed fishing and gambling.

One Great-Great-Grandson – Rhyker Conard-Johnson
One Great-Great-Granddaughter – Callie Conard, "on the way"
One Sister – Georgia Riley (Richard) of Normal, IL
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Steven Dean Conard; two brothers, Dale and Verl Conard; and two sisters, Virginia Chance and Mildred Poor.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the funeral home.
