Raymond T. "Ray" Swafford

Raymond Thomas "Ray" Swafford, 48, of rural Parsons, died at 6:59 a.m., Friday, December 10, 2004 at the Labette County Medical Center Emergency Room. His death was unexpected.
He was born March 20, 1956 at Parsons to Thomas Maynard Swafford and Edith Viola (Marsh) Swafford. He grew up and attended school in Parsons. He also attended Vo-Tech in Coffeyville where he learned the welding trade. He worked at Power Flame from 1987 to 1991 and 1993 to 2003 as a welder and fabricator.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He collected eagle statues and enjoyed riding motorcycles and gardening. He had attended the Assembly of God in Parsons.
He was first married to Glenda D. Shultz. They later divorced. He was married to Judy R. Miller at Parsons in March of 1987. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at the First Assembly of God with Rev. John Chastain officiating. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery near Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family of Raymond Swafford.
