Raymond E. Vail, 77, of rural Mound Valley, died at 6:40 a.m., Sunday, June 10, 2007, at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born July 15, 1929, in Mound Valley, to Claude Omer and Helena Matilda (Bruhn) Vail. He grew up and attended school in rural Mound Valley.
He and Carol Sue Engler were married. They later divorced. On May 25, 1979, he and Lois K. (Alldredge) Hale were married in Parsons. He lived his entire life in the Mound Valley area where he farmed.
He enjoyed restoring old equipment and vehicles and building and inventing things. He had restored a 1946 Ford that he enjoyed driving. He was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the Angola United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery near Angola. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
