Raymond F. Williams, 74, of Parsons, passed away at 11:55 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2020, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Raymond Forrest Williams was born on December 5, 1945, to Jack Raymond and Elizabeth (Musselwhite) Williams in Burbank, California. He grew up and attended schools in Burbank, California.
Upon graduation from Burroughs High School in Burbank, California, in 1964, Raymond entered the United States Navy. After three tours of duty in the Vietnam War and 21 years of service, he retired as a Radar Technician First Class. He then worked for Union Bank and also for Rides for Bay Area Commuters in San Francisco for a time. Raymond and his wife, Marty, moved to Parsons in 2003 and he worked for Les Hammett Insurance.
Raymond attended St. Patrick Catholic Church and had been active in Community Theatre. He enjoyed collecting model railroad HO gauge trains; studying history, especially World War II; watching science fiction movies, and going to Disney World. He had a special love for dogs.
On October 3, 1987, Raymond and Martha J. "Marty" Moriarty were married on a boat in the middle of San Francisco Bay. She survives of the home.

The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 28, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons and the family will receive friends immediately following the rosary. The Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars will provide military honors immediately following the rosary. The rosary and the funeral Mass can be viewed live on the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home Facebook page. For all events, social distancing guidelines will be followed, including the requirement of face masks.
