Reba M. Fentress, 89, formerly of Altamont, passed away at 10:35 a.m., Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons.
She was born December 18, 1926 in Hominy, Oklahoma to Emil and Mary "Addie" (Dixon) Holm. As a young girl, she moved with her family to rural Mound Valley, Kansas where she grew up and attended school.
In 1968, she began working at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant where she worked until retiring in 1988 as a line supervisor.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and going to Grand Lake.
In 1942, she and Charles Bradbury were married. He preceded her in death. On December 31, 1945, she and Duane "Butch" Fentress were married. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2001.
Survivors include:
Three Sons – Gary Bradbury and his wife, Joan Mullin, TX
Kim Fentress and his wife, Betty Jo Altamont, KS
Kip Fentress and his wife, Josie Grove, OK
Daughter-in-law – Peggy Fentress San Angelo, TX
Thirteen Grandchildren
Nineteen Great-Grandchildren
One Sister – Emilene Carson and her husband, Leonard Orem, UT
She was also preceded in death by one son, Danny Fentress, on April 5, 2013; one granddaughter, two brothers, and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
Memorials are suggested to the Altamont Recreation Commission. These may be left at or mailed to Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 325, Altamont, KS 67330.
