Retha L. Overman

Retha L. Overman, 83, of Chetopa, died at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at the Oswego Hospital.


She was born January 1, 1924, in rural Bartlett, to Earl and Tressie Brillhart. She was a graduate of Oswego High School.

She and Edward "Pete" Overman were married June 11, 1950, at the Presbyterian Church in Oswego.

For a time, she worked at Demings Investment Corporation in Oswego. Later, she and her husband became owners and operators of Chetopa Grain. She retired in 1999 at which time they sold their business.

She enjoyed cooking and sewing and was a member of the First Christian Church in Chetopa.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2007, at the First Christian Church in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa after 4:00 p.m., Friday.
