Richard L. "Baldy" Yarbrough, 77, of Bartlett, died at 10:27 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at Labette Health in Parsons.
He was born August 23, 1936 in Joplin, Missouri to Glen Wesley and Juanitta Vera (Collins) Yarbrough. He grew up and attended schools in Joplin while working at various jobs.
In 1965, he worked as a painter at Eby Construction in Parsons and in 1966 worked as a laborer at National Gypsum in Parsons. In 1967, Richard began his 30-year career as a lead-person with Day and Zimmerman where he worked until retiring in 1999.
He loved spending time with his family and friends and pitching horseshoes.
He and Marla A. Kirkland were married August 5, 1967 in Nowata, Oklahoma.

Two Sisters – Wynona Warden and husband, Fred Joplin, MO
Sue Verharr and husband, Joe Joplin, MO
Numerous Nieces and Nephew
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Edna Public Library. These may be left at or mailed to Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 325, Altamont, KS 67330.
