Richard Moss, 65, of Parsons, died at 9:35 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Labette Health in Parsons.
He was born August 17, 1948 in Oswego, Kansas to Henry H. Moss, Jr. and Catherine (Mickens) Moss. He grew up and attended school in Oswego and was a 1968 graduate of Oswego High School. In the early 1970's, he moved to Parsons where he attended Labette Community College and earned an Associate degree.
For 39 years, Richard was employed by the State of Kansas and had retired as a Case Manager Program Specialist II. In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and also enjoyed watching the Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs. He dearly loved his grandchildren and especially enjoyed spending time with them as well as with his nieces and nephews.
He and Jacqueline Houston were married October 10, 1975 in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced but had remained close friends through the years.

Karen Stewart Aurora, CO
Several Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Moss.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Friends and family are encouraged to wear KU apparel to Richard's service.
