Richard L. "Rick" Huebner, 78, of Parsons, passed away at his home at 3:59 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021.
Rick was born November 15, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Edward Christoph Huebner, Sr. and Mildred Lucille (Shoemaker) Huebner. Rick grew up and attended schools in Kansas City and graduated from the Northeast High School there in 1961. Following high school, and still only seventeen years of age, Rick entered the United States Air Force. He served in Vietnam, Taiwan, the Philippines and later Whiteman Air Force Base where he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. Following his discharge from the Air Force, Rick earned a bachelor's degree at Drury University. On September 15, 1984, Rick then began his career with the Internal Revenue Service and served as a Revenue Officer until his retirement on March 31, 2005.
Rick was an avid Kansas City Chiefs Fan. He also enjoyed going to auctions and bargain hunting. Rick enjoyed Elvis Presley music, fishing and bowling in earlier years. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He attended the Mother of God Catholic Church in Oswego and was a life-member of VFW Post No. 704 of Parsons.
Rick was united in marriage to Joan Carla Groff on November 19, 1966. She preceded him in death on January 27, 1996 after 29 years of marriage. On March 4, 2000, he was united in marriage to Cynthia L. (Spear) Willey in Parsons. She survives of the home.

Thirteen Grandchildren: Eric Huebner (Katelen Bailey), Chase Sexton (Kennah Ludlum), Jared Huebner (Shaina Carpenter), Jordan Willey, Morgan Crozier, Addison Daniels, Mia Huettenmueller, Preston Huebner, Adam Daniels, Will Huettenmueller, Sydney Huebner, Isaac Willey and Matthew Huebner.
One Great-granddaughter: Layla Huebner
In addition to his wife, Joan, he was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edward Christoph Huebner, Jr.; and a stillborn grandson, Jacob Richard Huebner.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with Fr. Larry Parker officiating. Military honors will be given the Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home with visitation following.
