Richard Edward Uphaus, 65, of Parsons, died at 7:20 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.
He was born January 3, 1947, in Seneca, Kansas, to August and Rose Elizabeth (Ronnebaum) Uphaus. As a young boy, he grew up in Seneca. Since the age of 16, he had lived in various nursing homes and group homes in Kansas. He moved to St. Paul during the mid 1980's and was currently residing at Connections ResCare in Parsons.
He was a Catholic.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2012, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, Kansas. Burial will be in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Seneca. Friends may call from 1-5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
