Rick J. Hinman, 55, of Parsons, died at 8:00 a.m., Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
He was born December 12, 1955, in Parsons, Kansas, to Ernest Wilson and Elnora Catherine (Stover) Hinman. He grew up and attended schools in Parsons and was a graduate of Parsons High School.
Through the years, he worked in construction for Lou Long and Rick Hizey before working as a brakeman at the Katy Railroad. From 1992-2004, he worked at Beachner Construction before becoming a self-employed general contractor.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Parsons. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends.
He and Kimberly J. Clifton were married January 5, 1991 in Parsons. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ernie "Bud" Hinman and Bob Hinman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011, at the Parsons Nazarene Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the church.
